INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY OF TECHNOLOGICAL SCIENCES (IATS) The IATS is an international nongovernmental public organization. Its goal is to consolidate efforts of technology scientists from different countries whose activities are aimed at accelerating the development of advanced, environmentally friendly technologies. The creation of the IATS was initiated at the International Conference on Nanotechnology in Interlaken, Switzerland, in 1991, with the support of the Russian-American Academy of Technological Sciences and the International Association "New High Technologies." The IATS was established in 1991 at the general convention in Moscow and registered by the Ministry of Justice of the USSR on 4 June 1991. Its founders are the Academy of Technological Sciences of the Russian Federation and distinguished professionals from various scientific fields. |
AT PRESENT At present, the IATS includes 197 members, 67 of whom hold doctoral degrees in Technical, Chemical, Physical and Mathematical, Geological and Mineralogical Sciences. The intellectual potential of the Academy members allows them not only to create new technologies but to serve as highly qualified experts in various fields of their activities, including the matters in the world and Russian oil and energy complex. The IATS' main scientific research is carried out within the frameworks of Scientific Sections as well as the IATS Scientific and Technical Council and conducted in collaboration with scientific structures of other organizations, representatives of research institutes and institutions of higher education, CEO's etc. |
GOAL AND OBJECTIVES The Academy's main goal is joint work of scientists from many countries, aimed at a speedier development of science-intensive, environmentally friendly technologies. In accordance with the IATS Charter, the Academy: -establishes and develops strong ties with international technical scientists, business and social communities interested in development- and solution-oriented approach towards scientific and technical matters; -organizes and holds annual international technological congresses "New Technologies in Gas and Oil Industry, Energy and Communications" and coordinates their activities; -conducts research, scientific and technical expertise of projects, programs and science competition entry works in the field of technology; -facilitates the implementation of inspiring developments, inventions and the application of their results in the technological science fields both in the Russian Federation and abroad. |
